The Best T In The City recently hosted a cooking masterclass with Chef Mogau Seshoene, popularly known as The Lazy Makoti, to teach Afropolitans ancient African recipes that can be enjoyed everywhere.
The food she prepared was inspired by her new cookbook titled the “Lazy Makoti’s Guide to The Kitchen”. Mogau Seshoene founded The Lazy Makoti in 2014 after leaving the corporate world. Through her work she hope to promote the role of food in maintaining South African culture and heritage.
She also spoke about the inspiration behind her brand The Lazy Makoti and how it manifested. Saying, “As a modern woman, where do you go to learn authentic African food? While giving classes on African food I noted recipes people kept wanting. I wanted to make a cookbook that you are actually going to use.”
