Simphiwe Dana and friends to perfom with 60-piece orchestra
I love music and anybody who knows me, can also attest to the fact that I love powerful women. Women who are innovative and break boundaries. So if you are a powerful female musician who has a clear identity, are not afraid to have an opinion and let people know about it, you really rank top of my favourite list. I was really heart-warmed and proud when I listened to Simphiwe Dana about her Symphony Experience which she is sharing with her friends, Nigerian singer Asa and Concha Buika from Equitorial Guinea.
Dana and her friends who will be accompanied by a 60-piece symphony orchestra will give us a melting pot rich in culture that transcends South Africa, Africa and Europe at the Simphiwe Dana Symphony Experience, in partnership with BET Africa and Kaya FM. We can expect a repertoire that is filled with emotion, because as we know when Dana performs she takes you on a somewhat spiritual journey. From the snippets I heard from Asa and Concha, it is going to be an experience never to forget.
Here is a snippet from the press conference held at Kaya House yesterday.

I have no doubt that it will be a great experience. African sisters doing it for themselves.
