Kaya FM Mother’s Day Concert 2017 – Pretoria Botanical Gardens
By Nomali Cele
Over the years, the Kaya FM Mother’s Day concert, brought to you by Spar, has become an institution in Gauteng. It has grown into the event where all music-loving Gauteng people gather to celebrate their mothers and 2017 will be no different.
The only slight change is that in 2017, the Kaya Mother’s Day concert will be held at the Pretoria Botanical Gardens. That’s right, this year we will be showing Pretoria big Mother’s Day love. In the past, the Mother’s Day Concert has been held at a different venue but this year that’s changing.
The changed venue is the only thing that will be different with this year’s Mother’s Day concert. With various stalls to encourage pampering and treating mothers, this is the Kaya FM Event with one purpose: relaxation. Attending Afropolitans can expect the same high standard of live music entertainment, lifestyle stalls and activities that have made the event the best Mother’s Day celebration in Gauteng.
The Pretoria National Botanical Gardens is a beautiful, family-friendly venue in Gauteng that is excellent for picnics and music. Mothers will be able to sit back and enjoy their day. Afropolitans are encouraged to bring their picnic blankets and camping chairs.
Getting to the Pretoria Botanical Gardens
Afropolitans based in the greater Johannesburg area are encouraged to give themselves enough time to get from their homes to the Pretoria Botanical Gardens. All the festivities will begin at 10AM. If you need extra encouragement to get there early, we have complimentary pamper offers such as hand, neck and shoulder massages and express manicures for attending mothers on a first come first served basis.
Address: 2 Cussonia Avenue, Brummeria, Pretoria
Kaya Mother’s Day Concert Line-up
With each passing year, it’s important to have a music line-up that will appeal to the mothers being celebrated. Afterall, it’s their day! This year, the stage will be headlined by South African music royalty. All are in agreement that Letta Mbulu and Caiphus Semenya are legends and they will perform all their classics and fan-favourites. Specially for Mother’s Day.
Zamajobe will also be performing at this year’s concert. Most known for her souful, award-winning debut “Ndawo Yami” Zamajobe’s music is everything the Mother’s day concert sound is all about. The Minions will be on site to keep the little ones entertained.
