Steve Komphela is fuming that his resignation letter was leaked. After resigning from Bloemfontein Celtic in December last year, his resignation was leaked to the media and shared on social media leaving Komphela livid. In the letter, the former Kaizer Chiefs coach detailed his reasons for leaving the club revealing that he had not been paid and he had been forced to use his own money to buy equipment necessary for club maintenance.
“Even profiling of the opponents‚ I pay from my own pocket to get all that information from independent analysts. I’ve been paying from my own pocket since Chippa United (August 5)‚ Lamontville Golden Arrows (August 8)‚ Orlando Pirates (August 19)‚ Kaizer Chiefs (August 29)‚ Black Leopards (September 16)‚ Maritzburg United (September 23) and recently against Mamelodi Sundowns (October 3). It is painful to put so much effort and still see a lot of disregard and disrespect,” he explains in the resignation letter.
Speaking after Sunday’s 1-1 draw against his former club, the now Golden Arrows coach admitted to writing the letter, but was angry that confidentiality was broken.
“I don’t know who leaked that. It was very irresponsible, it was not supposed to have been,” he explains.
“I am an honest man, I am truthful. I can’t deny that the content is the content that I shared with my principals. But whoever took that out in public lacks understanding and doesn’t respect privilege information,” he adds.
