Kaya heads to the Rugby World Cup with FNB and the Springboks
One of the highlights of the 2019 sporting calendar is finally here, and our excitement levels are high. Hosted in Japan for the first time, the Rugby World Cup kicks off this week and Kaya FM will be broadcasting live from all the action, between the 20- 27 September 2019.
With twenty teams from across the globe battling it out for the prestigious title, Mosibodi Whitehead, David O’Sullivan and Skhumba will be cheering on the Springboks in their green and gold colours, straight from the frontlines.
As two-time winners (1995 and 2007) the Springboks’ previous wins were both twelve years apart. 2019 marks twelve years since their 2007 victory, and we have big dreams of seeing the Springboks coming full circle with a third triumphant win. In partnership with FNB, proud sponsors of the Springboks, we are inviting supporters of the national rugby team to help us send words of encouragement to the Boks, by tagging us in your messages of support on social media with the hashtag: #WordsOfGreatness.
Ahead of his travels, Kaya FM’s Sports Editor, Mosibodi Whitehead said, “I am excited to be attending a World Cup outside of South Africa for the first time. In particular, I am looking forward to our huge clash against the All Blacks, while taking in everything that Japanese culture has to offer”.
While the focus will be on the big games, happening in venues across the country, Skhumba, Mosibodi Whitehead and David O’Sullivan will also be taking in the sights and scenes of both Tokyo and Kyoto, two of the country’s most vibrant cities. The presenters will be sharing their picks of charming destinations, unexpected finds and unforgettable moments on and off the beaten path –on air and across our digital platforms. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Kaya TV to keep abreast of all of the action.
