Give TVET Colleges a Chance – Buti Manamela


Government will continue to do work to ensure that Technical Vocational Education and Training colleges are more attractive to young people.

This is word from deputy Higher education Minister who says TVET colleges make the youth more employable than university graduate.

He says the country is in need of skills that will contribute positively to the economy.

Training that is attained at TVET colleges also provides students with skills that promote self employment

Manamela says students need to also consider attending TVET colleges after high school  as opposed to mainstream universities

Minister Manamela also spoke about the BRICS Business Council Skills Challenge that was launched a in Durban over the weekend. The 10th Brics Summit will be taking place at the convention centre from 25 – 28 July 2018, and will see various heads of state participating in the summit.
