“I am comfortable with myself. It’s hard to be yourself in a world where you’re presented with so many other dope things. But I’m comfortable being me and I’m happy that my fans have accepted that I am Pitori Maradona.”
Kgomotso Meso sits down with Focalistic on Elite Nites. Lethabo Sebetso picked up the moniker, Maradona from the famous football player, Diego Maradona. Playing ball on the streets ko kasi, he picked up the nickname which stuck and he carried it throughout the years.
Focalistic dropped three ‘projects’ last year. When asked about the three albums, he explains that he doesn’t view his music this way.
“Ase trap tse ke pina tsako kasi.”
“I have fun with my music and I don’t want people to box me in a category, like debut album ya Focalistic,” he explained.
He doesn’t want to be caught up in the hype of people reviewing his work as they do so critically with albums. Critiquing each one against the other like it’s a standard he needs to continue to reach or surpass.
He might not want to look at his work as an album but he is still topping charts like it’s nothing.
