Eric Benet on fatherhood, music and family

Neo-soul singer-songwriter and actor, Eric Benét, who is also four-time Grammy Award nominee, recently joined T Bose on The Best T In The City with for a conversation on his life, music, and fatherhood.
Back in South Africa after 19 years since his first visit, Eric Benét spoke about his love for his daughters and how family is everything for him. He recalled some of the challenging times during the early stages of his career, and how his family played an important role in supporting his dreams.
“I am very fortunate that have a family, while all this was happening I was busy establishing my career, there would be the time I would have to leave. My mom and my sister were there during those times. My Family is everything to me”
His acting career was also in the spotlight and he spoke about how he got a call from Mariah Carey to star in Glitter, a movie he feels should have won an Oscar.
He says Mariah Carey called him while in Jamaica presenting him with an offer to be part of the cast of the movie, and the rest, he said, was history. He is currently on his South African tour for a show titled A Soulful Night with Eric Benét and is working on a new movie which will be coming out next year.
