When The Fastest Animal in The Land Cannot Run Fast Enough
By Kgomotso Meso
Some people live under the notion that if two married people get into a relationship it’s not adultery because they are already married. That got me thinking about this much talked about ‘Ashley Madison’, a site that enables you to cheat with other married people or people that are in serious relationships. A problem arises when the cheater is now exposed and cannot run fast enough.
In July hackers threatened to publish information of all its members by 18th of August if they don’t take their website down. Well Ashley and Madison then decided that they would rather fight this and issued a statement saying that they are dealing with those criminals, and telling their clients that they are dealing with the unlawful intrusion.
Here is what kills me: on the 15th of July when the threat was issued a name of a client was published with a lot of information, so as to show that they are not bluffing. And the problem with a cheater (aside from the inability to change its spots), is that it believes that it will be never be caught, it’s too clever and to damn fast. Well as fate would have it, run on Cheater but we can all see you! There is absolutely nowhere to hide.
The Impact Team (hackers) released an array of details, from credit card details home addresses and employer details. It looks like more the half of the 37 million users are government employees, oh and there is also a huge chunk of journalists. Some of the users have already declared on their social media pages, with tails between their legs and begging for forgiveness.
I guess the only winners from this intersections movie is that a whole lot of divorce lawyers will be coining it, in fact they must just form a task team or consortium of sorts to deal with this huge spike of the need of their service.
Yes we know two wrongs don’t make a right, but sometimes a wrong that rectifies is right.
Let’s think about it, will this leak now change the face of social networks?
All of us who are chanting good on you should we promote people who gain access to information you gave privately? And when they don’t get what they want they bully you and you are on your knees?
Stolen Moments = Stolen Data.
“Life is too short, have an affair”, more like: have an affair and see just how long life is. You don’t believe me? Ask Bill and Monica, Ask Vavi and ‘Yellow Bone’ if you must – ask Proverb and Wife.
