Trump elected America’s 45th President
Donald Trump has emerged victorious and he is the 45th president of the United States. Democrat Hilary Clinton conceded defeat after Trump was sitting at 268 and she at 215 votes earlier today.
In his speech, Trump told Americans that it was time they worked together with him to “Make America great.”
The markets do not seem to be ready or even receptive of a Donald Trump Presidency. In fact, world markets have reacted negatively to a Republican victory.
Asian markets fell almost five percent at the opening of trade. The Rand traded almost two percent weaker on early morning trade.
Markets fear a Trump victory could cause such economic and global uncertainty to prevent the Federal Reserve from raising interest rates in December.
Many foresee that a Trump win will send the US economy in the direction that Brexit went and have an adverse impact on other countries especially the African continent.
