Some concern over long Public Protector interviews
By Tunicia Phillips
Concerns have been raised about the long hours for interviews for the new public protector.
Interviews are set to start early this morning and the final candidate is scheduled for around 11pm.
The Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution and Corruption Watch,is worried about the impact the long hours will have on candidates.
The committee chaired by Dr Makhosi Khoza has the daunting task of interviewing all prospective candidates in one day.
But Khoza says they are up to the task.
The committee will interview candidates including Judge Siraj Desai, Deputy National Director of Public Prosecutions Willie Hofmeyr and Deputy Public Protector Kevin Malunga from 07:45am , with the last interview set for 23:00pm.
