SHADRACK SIBIYA TO KNOW HIS FATE TODAY
Disgraced Gauteng Hawks boss Shadrack Sibiya will find out today whether his career in the police service is terminated. Sibiya was found guilty last month of gross misconduct for his role in the arrest and rendition of five Zimbabwean suspects in 2010, allegations that he has vehemently denied these allegations.
It’s understood Police management want disciplinary hearing chair Mxolisi Zondo to fire Sibiya because he has been charged with a combination of very serious offences.
It says at no stage did Sibiya show any remorse for his conduct His legal team has however raised concerns that Zondo made several findings without there being any evidence presented to prove them.
It says the findings are based on conclusions and assumptions and not facts.
Sibiya is expected to appeal Zondo’s ruling, which is scheduled to be released today. Shardack Sibiya was charged for the rendition together with former Hawks boss Anwa Dramat as well as Independent Police Investigative Directorate boss Robert Mc Bride.
