Municipalities play an important role when ensuring that communities receive various basic services. These services range from maintaining roads and infrastructure, delivery of water, electricity and refuse removal amongst other things.
Kaya FM and SALGA want to highlight and showcase various service delivery initiatives that municipalities have been hard at work to deliver. We will also share information on how you can resolve your municipal issues as well as help you understand how a municipality works to deliver a service to you.
Tune into 180 with Bob every Monday for #AskSalga between 6 and 9am. We will get an in-depth understanding about your municipality as well as answer some of your questions that you can ask via Facebook and Twitter.
Stay tuned to Kaya FM for more.
The South African Local Government Association (SALGA) is an autonomous association of municipalities established in 1996 with its mandate derived from the constitution of South Africa. Our mandate defines SALGA as the voice and sole representative of local government with a membership base made up of 278 municipalities. We pride ourselves in the intellectual capital we have acquired through our people over the years.
SALGA has a clear mandate to represent, promote and protect the interests of local government, to transform it to enable it to fulfill its developmental role, to ensure the full participation of women in local government and to develop capacity in municipalities to enable them to fulfil their role to deliver services to communities.
