Road to #SONA2017 – The State of the Economy
Economists believe President Jacob Zuma will seek to reassure the nation that the country’s economy is well on its way to improving
This when he delivers his fourth State of the nation address in parliament this evening.
The President’s address comes as the country battles with an unemployment rate of 27.1% – the highest in 13 years.
Last year the country also battled with slow economic growth which was worsened by persistent drought conditions.
President Zuma will have a tough task allaying the fears of South Africans who feel that the economy is not doing well enough to help them.
