Recourse for Aurora employees
It seems there is light at the end of the tunnel and that former Aurora mine employees will get what is due to them.
Yesterday Aurora director – Khulubuse Zuma agreed to pay R23 million in damages to the workers.
More than 5000 workers lost their jobs after the mine was liquidated six years ago.
Now mine workers union Solidarity has advised former Aurora mine employees to register for their outstanding salaries.
The union says all those who have not submitted names for their claims can now contact liquidator KaapVaal Trust.
Other directors involved have been sequestrated for failing to pay damages – worth R5.9 million.
