RBA Homes Competition – Congratulations to Omolemo Mokgwatlheng and his family
Bonolo Moleli submitted an entry on behalf of Omolemo. Read the story below:
We are entering this competition on behalf of a very special 14 year old boy, Omolemo. He lives with his grandparents, aunt and his cousin in a three bedroom shack. His mother passed on when Omolemo was only 4 years old. What makes his situation so heart breaking is that he has chronic renal failure as a result of recurrent kidney stones since he was 4 years old. His treatment requires that he dialysed himself daily for 10 hours. Dialysis treatment needs to be under very clean (sterile) conditions and also requires a strict diet for the outcome to be successful. He is currently on the transplant list for a new kidney but until he finds a donor match he would need to follow this strict care at home. However, living in a shack does not provide the sterile conditions that are needed for this type of care. With no breadwinner in the household the chances of getting a suitable house built is almost impossible. He recently was admitted because he acquired an infection and he would seriously benefit if he were to win the house.
