Pretoria Girls High gets support
Several organisations have pledged their support to the learners at Pretoria girls high school who have taken a stand against what they call racial practices.
The learners embarked on protest action calling for a change in the schools code of conduct.
According to the learners – the school has rules in place which discourages their blackness – barring them from hairstyles such as afros, dreadlocks and braids.
Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi is expected to visit the school today.
An online petition has been started on Amandla.mobi in support of the calls being made by the learners.
