Nedbank and Kaya FM bring free seminars to small business
19 November 2015 – Nedbank in partnership with Kaya FM will once again host the Nedbank SimplyBiz workshop – the last one for the year at the Henley Business School in Sunninghill.
Keynote speakers Billy Selekane, an author and internationally acclaimed inspirational keynote speaker as well as Lynette Ntuli, the founding director and Chief Executive Officer of Innate Investment Solutions, will share valuable insights on how to take your business to the next level.
They will also be joined by subject matter experts from Nedbank, including Louis Maritz, Head: Risk, Retail Relationship Banking and Nirmala Reddy, Senior Manager: Enterprise Development.
The seminars held throughout 2015 were created with a vision to empower entrepreneurs and small business owners to take their business to the next level. These seminars build on insights from the award-winning business show, KayaBiz hosted by the renowned Steven Bacher.
Nedbank’s partnership with Kaya FM forms part of the bank’s continued commitment to support the SME sector and partner with small businesses for growth for a greater South Africa.
About small business initiatives
- One of our flagship offerings, small-business seminars, has provided practical solutions and advice to over 30 000 small-business owners across the country since inception some 10 years ago.
- In the past three years the bank has provided over R20 million in enterprise development assistance to emerging black SMEs, benefiting over 2 000 entrepreneurs.
- Small Business Friday™ was conceptualised in 2012 in association with the National Small Business Chamber to encourage consumers and large businesses to keep small businesses top of mind when making purchases in their communities. This initiative continues to gain momentum and raise awareness of the important role small businesses play in the South African economy and in creating a vibrant society.
- The Nedbank Small Business Index™ was launched in 2013, aimed at providing a measurable assessment of the SME sector. The index tracks trends and issues affecting small businesses in South Africa, such as sector confidence, business activity, expectations of both the private and public spheres, as well as challenges.
The index also overlays perception against economic indices, offering a unique view of key small-business trends and a rich knowledge base of perspectives about the things that really matter to small business owners.
Nedbank’s vision is that this index will be widely referenced so that key stakeholders in the private and public sectors can engage on issues pertaining to the SME sector. In addition, it also serves as a tool for small businesses to guide their business decisions.
