Marikana miners back in court
19 Lonmin mineworkers are back in the North West High Court in Mahikeng today.
Their charges relate to the five days preceding August 16 2012.
This is the day on which 34 mine workers were gunned down in a bloody stand-off with the police.
Two police officials and two security officers were also killed during the strike which started when angry Lonmin mine workers demanded a salary increase of R12 500.
The 19 workers are facing charges of murder, robbery, malicious damage to property and unlawful possession of firearms.
