LESUFI MEETING ROODEPOORT PRIMARY SGB
The EFF is calling on Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi to reach out to the party and allow it to help iron out issues at Roodepoort Primary school. This morning EFF members addressed parents at the school after community members called for the party to intervene. Parents have been up in arms over alleged corruption at the school – and the appointment of the current Principal and her deputy ,which they consider unlawful.
MEC Panyaza Lesufi addressed the media yesterday on his plans to resolve issues at the school, after five people were left injured during a violent altercation ensued between parents.
Police were called in and fired rubber bullets to try and stop the fight which happened in full view of the learners, who were waiting on buses to be transported to Lufhereng Primary School.
The MEC has reiterated his commitment to ensuring learners continue with schooling in a safe environment, clearing his schedule for the next six days to deal with the matter personally.
Tonight community members of Davidsonville where the school is located, are set to meet with Lesufi at the Civic centre in Florida. Lesufi will be meeting with community members for the 34th time, but has urged all those with a viable solution to attend.
