By Zuko Komisa
Kaya FM together with Spar in celebration of Mother’s Day hosted its annual Mother’s Day Concert at the Pretoria Botanical Gardens on the 14th May 2017. The weather was on our side as the appreciation and warmth of the day brought every one together for the celebration.
Kaya FM acknowledges that a mother’s work is never done until she takes the day off! With this in mind, Kaya FM decided to spoil mothers like the queens they are with massages and makeovers. There were also palm readers & a fortuneteller on site
Zamajobe serenaded mums with her angelic voice, singing melodies from her previous bodies of work. In her interview leading up to the event she spoke to Tbose on my Top 10 at 10 where she shared her amazing story of being a mother. Zamajobe spoke about the lullaby she wrote for her child, a song she performed at the event called “Thula Mntwana”. This unforgettable and special moment was shared by mums with their families.
Caiphus Semenya and Letta Mbulu were an absolute crowd favorite, with their incredible performance. They brought their A-game, belting classics that took the crowd through a trip down memory lane. Their classic hits “ ‘Ndiphendule’, ‘Angelina’, ‘Not Yet Uhuru’, ‘Music In the Air’ and ‘Matswale’ brought an incredible energy to the Pretoria Botanical Garden.
