Joburg Zoo Kaya FM concert, Saxonwold. 10am-5pm
Pack a picnic basket for your family and enjoy live performances by Lira, Maleh and the Johannesburg Chamber Orchestra. There’s load of entertainment for children to explore and enjoy.
The Zoo will be offering the following activities on the day:
Big 5 Tour; Visit to the Animals of Amazon exhibition; Animal demonstration
WS Botanical Gardens concert, Roodepoort, 10am-5pm
Performing will be singer-song writer Henri Van Dyk ; young classical singer Tiro Moshosho and Afrikaans songstress Charlize Berg.
Kloofendal Reserve treasure hunt & picnic, West Rand 10am-12pm, Mom’s free. Families are supplied with a map on which the trail with the “treasures” will be marked. The children will use the map to find the treasures, dads to supervise, moms to “harvest” the treasures her children will find for her. NB. only one treasure per child allowed to be picked up at each treasure control point Bring mother’s day picnic to enjoy in the Kloofendal amphitheatre after the treasure hunt. There are many picnic spots and good ablution facilities. Please no electronic music, no littering, do allow everybody to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the reserve.
Lipizzaner Mama Mia dance, Kyalami, 10.30 and 3pm

Shepherd’s Fold trail ride, Elandsdrift 9am,
Spoil mom this Mothers Day with a 1.5 hour trail ride in the stunning Elandsdrift country side. You may spot some wildlife and our beautiful bird life, whilst looking out over the mountains. After your ride come back to a scrumptious buffet breakfast served on the stoep of the old farm house. No riding experience needed, weight limit is 90kgs. Booking is essential.
