Independent investigation body to look into racial issues at Pretoria Girls High
Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi has appointed an independent investigation body to look into the racial issues at Pretoria Girls High.
Lesufi instituted the investigation after the school was rocked by anti-racism protests.
Pupils protested against the school’s code of conduct which restricted the type of hairstyles black pupils could have.
Yesterday the MEC held meetings with learners, the schools management and the school governing body in a bid to get to the bottom of the issue.
The investigation body has been given 21 days to conclude their business and to provide a preliminary report.
