How far are police from finding Palesa Madiba?
Its six weeks since Palesa Madiba has been missing, and let me tell you it seems we are no closer to finding her. Instead there seems to be a lot of loose ends in the investigation. With every day that goes past, I worry more about her …
I ask myself has harm come to Palesa. Is she still in the country? What is she up to, can she see the pain her family and friends are going through? If someone is responsible for her disappearance why are they not coming forward? Does no one really know what happened to her. With all these questions in my head I ask myself are police doing enough to find Palesa.
The way I see it her family and friends are doing more than police. You see I have never been a police investigator but I’m worried about the way things are going. The last I heard police questioned three people about Palesa’s disappearance and released them. I also understand police have Palesa’s cellphone records , but what are they doing with that information.
Have they question Tshidi and her family sufficiently well I don’t know? Over the past weekend a 19 year old Dooronkop girl was arrested after sending us on a wild goose chase in Dobsonville ,Soweto saying Palesa is there when she knew fully well that was not the case. She appeared in court on Monday and was released on 3000 rands bail. Now, for this girl to be nabbed, Palesa’s family and friends asked Dobsonville police for help to trace the number that had sent hoax smses to them. Let me remind you that the people who traced the number and arrested Nobantu Nhlapho are not the investigating officer….
Maybe I should take you back a bit since Palesa has been missing, there has been at least three investing officers on this case, first at the Diepkloof police station, then at the Moroka police station and the current investigator was appointed by provincial police and still the investigation is failing to yield fruits….Don’t get me wrong I realise the sensitivity of this case but let’s face it every day that goes by, the more the anxiety and anguish for the Madiba family and friends…
If you asked me whether I think police are doing this case justice I would definitely answer a resounding NO!!!
