GDP growth good for investor confidence
Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan says policy uncertainty must be removed to give investors’ confidence.
Gordhan is of the view that a regulatory environment has to be created to make doing business easier.
The minister assured the country that the economy is unlikely to fall into recession this year.
He says strong GDP figures for the second quarter indicate a relatively robust rebound for the economy.
Earlier in the week Statistics South Africa released better than expected Gross Domestic Product figures indicating that our economy grew by 3.3 percent in the second quarter.
The minister also assured South Africans and investors that he and the treasury will not be “captured.”
