Fees protests continue today
#FeesMustFall protests across the contry continue this week. Last night,at the University of Zululand’s main campus in KwaDlangezwa nine vehicles set alight, while at UKZN residences were torched.
Students at the Tshwane University of technology have had a change of heart and decided to join in on the #FeesMustFall protests taking place across the country. TUT students had initially said they would not be protesting as most of the students at the institution would not be affected by fee hikes next year.
Students say they do not want to be seen as sell outs of the movement as this is a national issue facing all students.
At Wits University, students are accusing the institutin’s management of planting the three petrol bombs discovered on campus this weekend. #FeesMustFall leader Busisiwe Seabe says they believe the bombs were placed there to create an impression that the fees movement is violent and destructive.
The University of Johannesburg is also holding mass meetings to map a way forward today.
