Busisiwe Mkhwebane set to fill Public Protector shoes
Outgoing public protector Thuli Madonsela says she is disappointed that her deputy Kevin Malunga failed to make the cut as her successor.
Parliament’s ad hoc committee established to find a replacement for Madonsela, yesterday selected advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane to recommend to the National Assembly.
Mkhwebane who has been chosen to take up the post – is currently a director at the National Immigration Services in the Department of Home Affairs.
The DA has questioned Mkhwebane’s alleged closeness to president Jacob Zuma.
Madonsela says she’s confident that Malunga would have been incorruptible – and that it’s not her place to comment on Parliament’s decision.
Madonsela’s term in office will end in October.
