South Africa’s under 20 National Football team go into their second group B match in the Total African Championships boosted by the return of skipper Tercious Malepe and Phakamani Mahlambi. Malepe  was not available for the first match due to suspension, but Amajita were still able to record a resounding 3-1 win over Cameroon. Mahlambi only arrived in Ndola on Tuesday and will be hoping to make the team to face Senegal on Thursday.

“It’s going to be a tough match as we all know Senegal are wounded, they haven’t lost a game in the last 6 months” Amajita coach Thabo Senong said during the match day presser. Senong wants to ensure that his side wraps things up with a win in tomorrow’s encounter. Should Amajita go on to win against Senegal, not only will it guarantee them a spot in the semi-finals but will earn them a ticket to the Junior World Cup which they missed out on in 2014.

Senong and his technical side have a fully-fledged team of 21 players available. Crowd favourite, Luther Singh who has been touted as the new Benni Mccarthy will be looking to get on the score sheet once again.
